I’m an archival researcher and documentary director with a background in history. I help bring stories to life by finding compelling archival material—and thinking creatively about how to use it.
I work closely with directors and have a good sense for what they’re looking for. It often feels like I can see through their eyes, which makes the search for material not just a job, but a creative collaboration. Together, we explore possibilities and often land on images that take the story further than expected.
Because I direct myself, I understand what a story needs and how visuals can carry emotion, create rhythm, or open up new layers of meaning. Add to that my experience with licensing and rights clearance, and I can offer both the creative and practical side of working with archives.
I’ve done this work for projects like Theo van Gogh – De Hunkering (4 x 50’, dir. David de Jongh), Fortuyn: Un-Dutch (8 x 60’, dir. Menna Laura Meijer), and In Between Brothers (90’, dir. Tom Fassaert).
Looking for someone who combines solid research with a storyteller’s eye? I’d love to hear from you.
